Makeup Monday: Avon Super Drama Mascara

Ribbet collage

So my mum actually ordered this for herself and then didn’t like it so she gave it to me. It’s the Avon Super Drama Mascara which is an awesome name as it rhymes. It’s just a small dark purple tube with black writing. The wand it’s self is very weird. It’s quite rough on the eyelashes. I don’t really like this mascara all that much. It’s a really dark liquid and when I put it on it makes me eyelashes very black. It also makes them stick together a lot which I don’t like. It’s not that bad if you used it with another mascara. I’ve been using it under the Collection Longer Length Lengthening mascara, and together my eyelashes look a lot longer and darker. I would never use this product on it’s own though, as it’s really not that good.

Makeup Monday: MUA Eyeshadow

IMG_0195This going to be a very short review because It’s hard to say something about a simple yet amazing project but I’m going to try anyway. I recently purchased this Makeup Academy Single Eyeshadow in the colour Oyster for 1 pound. For a while I’ve really wanted a white eyeshadow to use as a highlighter as the ones in my palettes are already worn down or already all used. This is such a simple small product, but it was very cheap and works really well. It has a really nice shimmer to it and it works well if you’ve got really pale skin. It’s also really small so it’s easy to carry around without taking up too much room in your bag/pocket.

Review: Bare Minerals All Over Face Colour

Ribbet collageI got this in a giftset like a really long time ago and I’ve only used it a few times. It’s mostly because it’s a very very dark orange powder and I have very very pale skin so of course it makes me look really really orange. The powder itself is also quite thick and layers on your skin in layers which is kind of annoying (and hard to describe). I’ve also had some trouble with the container which seems to open by itself a lot and leak powder all over everything, which is really annoying. This would probably work well for you if you’ve got quite naturally tanned or dark skin, unlike mine which is so pale I could be mistake for a corpse. Anyway I’m probably not the best person to review this since it doesn’t work for my tone but here ya go.

Makeup Monday: Revolution Iconic 2 Eyeshadow Palette

I’ve been on the lookout for a new eyeshadow palette for a while now and have always liked the look of the Urban Decay Naked Palettes, but they’re very expensive and getting all 3 would cost at least a hundred pounds. I’ve been looking around and I was told this was a good dupe for the naked palettes and just a very good palette in general. It’s the Revolution Redemption Palette Iconic 2. It 12 nude eyeshadow colours. There’s a few golds, some light silver/greys and a deep black. They don’t have names which is weird as it makes it hard for me to talk about each colour individually. Normally with palettes I only use 3-4 colours but with this one I seem to have found a use for every single colour. They just all work so well together and look beautiful on when blended.  This was also super cheap, I think it cost me 4 pounds, so it’s really good if you’re a student or you don’t have a lot of money and you want to buy a eyeshadow palette without selling one of your limbs.

Makeup Monday: Tanya Burr Lip Gloss

IMG_0129I recently picked up this Lip Gloss from the Tanya Burr Cosmetics range.  This one is in the shade ‘Picnic in the park’ and it’s sort of a dark pink. I find it comes out a lot darker on my lips than it is in the bottle , so I usually take a separate brush (since the applicator it comes with is kind of a weird shape) and brush it across my lips to make it spread out more, and by then it’s not as bright or clumpy and gives a nice light finish. It taste like strawberries and cream and I have to fight not to lick this off my lips because it tastes so good. So really apart from the fact it’s too dark for my skin tone it’s a really nice lip gloss and I definitely want to try some more colours in the range.

Review: Makeup Revolution Blush

IMG_0071This blush was from my new favourite makeup brand Revolution which I’ve only just discovered and may do a post on on. It’s a super cheap brand but the products are all amazing quality. This blush which is in the colour Sugar only cost me a pound. I was at first worried about the quality of a product for such a cheap price but the blush is so pretty against my skin and it last for a long time. I checked out the website and all their stuff is cheap with the most expensive item being 12 pounds. I would defiantly check out this site if you’re low on money and want good quality makeup products for a small price. Link [x]
