Eden’s Semilla Vitamin E Oil Review

So as of late I’ve been really interested in using more natural products on my skin. After finding out the facial scrub I use is unfortunately tested on animals I decided to branch out and to try and find to find a more natural and of course cruelty free scrub. Whilst searching I was thrown into the world of oils. It turns out there’s a lot of different oils in the world, Lavender, Coconut, Argan, Sunflower, Rose, Raspberry, Almond. Even Cucumber. It all seemed very confusing so I picked a few different ones and tried them out and I intend to review each one in upcoming posts. Whilst I was in my search Eden’s Semilla were generous enough to send me a bottle of their Eden’s Semilla Vitamin E Oil in return for a review. Of course I said yes, how could I not? I’m going through a big oil craze and a lovely company offers to send me a bottle? Couldn’t have come at a better time.

First I want to say I don’t have amazon prime but I received this the morning after I placed my order. Which is just amazing because there’s nothing worse than having to wait around for an amazon order. My first thing I noticed about this product before I had even tried it, was how little packaging it came with. I received a small box, containing the oil and a plastic bag with the dropper inside and this was the only packaging. I love it when companies have very minimal packaging, as lots of complicated ties, boxes and bags are bad for the environment, unnecessarily and just not good in general. The box the oil comes in is yellow with white and gold font and has a small picture on the front showing all the different ingredients involved in the product.

My first impression of the oil itself is that I really hate the smell. But you never judge a product but it’s smell, as someone amazing products smell terrible and some awful products smell fantastic. Saying that the product itself doesn’t feel like oil, it’s so light weight and silky it basically feels like water. I applied this on my face morning and night for two weeks and compared to other oils I’ve used in the past, it doesn’t feel thick or suffocating. It takes a while to set but when it finally does your skin feels very soft and smooth. After two weeks of daily use I will say my skin does feel a lot more hydrated and moisturised. Because I have very dry skin it’s rare my face feels hydrated, so if you’ve got dry skin and find it hard to get moisture on your face like me, you’re really going to want to check this out.

I’m pleased to say this product contains 100% natural ingredients and has the leaping bunny certificate, so we know no bunnies died to make this. The ingredients are: 100% naturally sourced Vitamin E (Safflower / Wheatgerm / Sunflower / Sweet Almond / Apricot / Avocado) Organic Jojoba and Rosehip Oil. Let’s take a look at these ingredients in detail:

  • Rosehip oil – Is full of vitamins and antioxidants, is good for getting rid of dark spots, reducing redness, scars and being hydrating for dry and/or itchy skin.
  • Organic Jojoba – Is the only oil that resembles our natural oils, works as a natural moisturizer and combats facial scarring and facial lines.
  • Safflower oil – Acts as a natural lubricant that prevents water from leaving your skin and locks in moisture for glowing fresh, soft skin.
  • Wheatgerm oil – Improves circulation to the skin and the hair, helps hydrate dry or itchy skin.
  • Sunflower oil –  Improves skin health, regenerates cells, reduces scars and gives the skin a healthy glow.
  • Sweet Almond oil – Protects against UV radiation damage, cleans pores, softens skin and battles dark circles.
  • Apricot oil – Is anti-aging, soothes irritated skin and works as a natural moisturizer.
  • Avocado oil – Prevents inflammations, redness and itchiness, is an affect treatment for acne and blackheads.  Is beneficial in diminishing age spots and smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles.

All great natural ingredients that have amazing benefits for the skin.

If you’re new to oils, I’d say start with coconut oil or argan oil for you hair and Vitamin E oil for your skin. I’ve use all three and all three are amazing. I’m going to keep using this Vitamin E oil as it’s making my skin feel so nice and will probably continue to purchase more natural oils in the future.

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Revolution All About Cream Blush Palette Review

new 1newnew-3Link: [x] | Price: £6.00

So I recently picked up this All About Cream Blusher Palette by Revolution. It comes in the standard black sturdy case with 8 beautiful cream blushes. Like my previous review of the revolution golden highlighter palette I’m going to give the blushes names because they don’t have them. There’s 8 colours in this palette, many of which are quite similar. There’s a good mixture of hot pinks and dark coral tones and one light pink blush.

They blushes themselves are very soft and creamy. They apply easily and also blend well. I’ve been wearing #2 and #7 the most, but they are all very pretty and all look very nice on the skin. I will say the staying power is amazing, they last for a very long time, even after my foundation has faded my blusher is usually still going strong. I will say these shades are quite dark and don’t work that well for pale skin. I am very pale, like corpse-statue pale so really only 2 work on me. If you’ve got tan or dark skin however this would probably make you look amazing. So if you’ve got pale skin definitely check this out.

Revolution Golden Sugar Blush and Contour Palette Review

New 2New 3New 1new-4Link: [x] | Price: £6.00

So I recently picked up this blush and contour palette by Revolution. It’s called the Golden Sugar Palette and it comes with 2 highlighters, 4 blushes and 2 bronzers. They’re all together in a nice rectangle black plastic case, which is kind of hard to open but is very secure, so there’s no chance of it breaking in your bag and spilling everywhere.

All the colours are really pigmented and look lovely on the skin. None of the colours have names, so I’m just going to give them names I made up, because why not. The first two are highlighters, called George Clooney and The Goblin King (yeah see I’m great at naming things). The George Clooney highlighter [1] is a very light pale colour whilst the Goblin King [2] is a very light biege highlighter. I’ve used both and although both are very pigmented I much prefer George Clooney which I’ve been applying under my eyebrows and along my jaw line as it looks a lot nicer on the skin and shows up a lot more on my pale face.

There’s also 4 blushes in this set, which I’m going to give amazing names. The first one, which I’m going to cool Pina Colada [3] is a very light sweet pink shade, the second one which I’ve been calling Flamingo [4] is very similar to Pina Colada but just a little bit darker. Below that are Just a little Wine [5] which is a very dark coral blush and next to that is Too Much Wine [6] which is a very dark red with sort of golden undertones. All the blushes have a slight shimmer to them. The last two items in the palette are two bronzers. The first I have named Drunk Christmas Tree [7] and it’s a very nice shimmery golden brown. The next one which I have called Sober Christmas Tree [8] is a very light matte brown.

I’ve mostly been using George Clooney [1],  The Goblin King [2], Flamingo [4] and Pina Colada [3]. I’ve found all the colours to be very very pigmented and that they stand out on the skin a lot. I love using George Clooney to highlight under my brow because I’m very pale and I find it very hard to find a highlighter that stands out against my skin without making me look like a twilight sparkling vampire. But George Clooney and The Goblin King work very well on my skin and make it so I look light I actually have some resemblance of bones in my otherwise round face.

The blushes and bronzers are also read good, very pigmented and last for a long time. This is one of the best palettes I’ve ever used from revolution and I absolutely adore it.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer Review

New 1New 2New 3

So I’ve been using this concealer for the last 3 months now, ever since my old one ran out. I really wanted to try a new one, so I picked up this one. I’d seen a lot of amazing reviews on it, with most people saying the best drugstore concealer is either this or the collection lasting perfection concealer. Now the collection concealer was the one I was using previously to this, and it was great. But I wanted to try something new and so this happened.

I have very fair/pale skin so I picked this up in ivory which is the lightest shade. Unlike the wake me up foundation, the lightest shade of this does not have pink undertones, but is just a nice stable light colour. The coverage is amazing and it applies very well. I will say my only problem with this is that although it does amazing on spots and blemishes it seems to crease quite badly when applied under the eyes. Apart from that little mishap it’s a really amazing concealer, easy to apply, last for a long time and it’s easy to take off.

The Body Shop Strawberry Treats Cube Gift Set Review

DSCF2776DSCF2764DSCF2767DSCF2770DSCF2765

I received this cute little ‘Strawberry treats’ gift set for Christmas and thought I would post a little review. This is just a simple little cute gift set. I received this for Christmas and I believe it’s a season exclusive as I can no longer find the product in the online store, but from searching I can see this was around 10 pounds.

Anyway this product is simply just a little red and white stripey box which contains one of those red bath scrunchie things (not sure what they’re actually called, but hopefully you know what I mean) and two bottles. One contains Strawberry shower gel which is a thick red gel that smells exactly like strawberry lace sweets and the other is Strawberry body puree which smells like strawberries and cream.

I’ve been using these products a lot and I absolutely adore them. The shower gel lather’s so well and smells so good, exactly like strawberry laces which really makes me want to eat it. The body puree is so soft and creamy and makes my skin feel amazing whilst making me smell amazing. The bottles are of course quite small which is the only downside to this product as apart from that they are amazing. I would definitely recommend them.

Makeup Monday: Revolution Matte Effect Foundation

IMG_0196

Another random revolution review. I swear I’m not sponsored by a lot of their product because their cheap and I’m poor, haha. Anyway this is the Revolution Matt Effect Foundation in warm beige. I had to blindly choose this based on the colour of the sticker due to the fact their were no tester available. It does however match my skin tone quite well. It’s quite a thick liquid but does blend really well. I use this daily over primer and under powder and it a good product. My only problem is that it takes quite a well to blend it in as it’s quite a thick liquid. It was only 3 pounds I believe, to apart from that small thing this product is great!

Makeup Monday: Avon Super Drama Mascara

Ribbet collage

So my mum actually ordered this for herself and then didn’t like it so she gave it to me. It’s the Avon Super Drama Mascara which is an awesome name as it rhymes. It’s just a small dark purple tube with black writing. The wand it’s self is very weird. It’s quite rough on the eyelashes. I don’t really like this mascara all that much. It’s a really dark liquid and when I put it on it makes me eyelashes very black. It also makes them stick together a lot which I don’t like. It’s not that bad if you used it with another mascara. I’ve been using it under the Collection Longer Length Lengthening mascara, and together my eyelashes look a lot longer and darker. I would never use this product on it’s own though, as it’s really not that good.

Makeup Monday: MUA Eyeshadow

IMG_0195This going to be a very short review because It’s hard to say something about a simple yet amazing project but I’m going to try anyway. I recently purchased this Makeup Academy Single Eyeshadow in the colour Oyster for 1 pound. For a while I’ve really wanted a white eyeshadow to use as a highlighter as the ones in my palettes are already worn down or already all used. This is such a simple small product, but it was very cheap and works really well. It has a really nice shimmer to it and it works well if you’ve got really pale skin. It’s also really small so it’s easy to carry around without taking up too much room in your bag/pocket.

Makeup Monday: Tanya Burr Lip Gloss

IMG_0129I recently picked up this Lip Gloss from the Tanya Burr Cosmetics range.  This one is in the shade ‘Picnic in the park’ and it’s sort of a dark pink. I find it comes out a lot darker on my lips than it is in the bottle , so I usually take a separate brush (since the applicator it comes with is kind of a weird shape) and brush it across my lips to make it spread out more, and by then it’s not as bright or clumpy and gives a nice light finish. It taste like strawberries and cream and I have to fight not to lick this off my lips because it tastes so good. So really apart from the fact it’s too dark for my skin tone it’s a really nice lip gloss and I definitely want to try some more colours in the range.

Makeup Monday: Revolution Ultra Bronze Bronzer

IMG_0134It’s really hard for me to find bronzers that work since I have really really pale skin so bronzers usually make my skin look really orange. I hate that and I really wish I had more tanned skin. This bronzer is one of the only ones I’ve found that actually works with my skin tone. It comes out a very rich coffee brown but once brushed over properly it blends well with your skin tone to make it look just a little darker without making it to obvious you’re wearing it. Also I should mention this is from Revoultion brand and only cost £3 pounds which is just amazing for such a good product.
