Tanya Burr Peachy Glow Cheek Palette Review

10Link: [x] | Price: £8.00

So I recently picked up the Tanya Burr Peachy Glow Cheek Palette. I picked it up because I liked the look of the product and the really pretty packaging. The product comes in a small silver and pink striped box with a dark pink scallop pattern around the edge.

The product itself contains a bronzer, blush and highlighter. Each section is imprinted with a pattern and each product has a name. The bronzer has little lines going through it and is named Beach Bronze, the Blush is called Apricot Flush and has little hearts going through it and the highlighter is called Champagne Shimmer and has little snowflakes and starts printed on it.  I really do like the highlighter as I think it gives a nice white glow without too much shine. The blush is a nice peachy shade in the palette but is not very pigmented in my opinion, it might just be because I have very pale skin but it just doesn’t work very for me at all. The bronzer is also a very nice light brown colour that is very pigmented. Both the bronzer and highlighter have good staying power but the blush, again isn’t that good.

Overall this is an okay palette. The bronzer and the highlighter are nice but the blush is a little disappointing. I’d probably give it a 6/10.

Book Review: 13 Reasons why by Jay Asher

411MJMpTseL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_(As always spoilers bellow for the book in question)

This book was recommend to me by a now ex-friend years ago and I stuck it on my to read list but never actually got around to reading it this year. To summarize the plot for you it’s about a girl named Hannah Baker who commits suicide and leaves behind a set of tapes with the 13 reasons why she ended her own life. Each person has to listen to all 13 tapes to know why they’re on it and then each person has to give the tapes on to the next person on the list, because if they don’t then everyone will know what they did (and some of them did some really bad stuff only Hannah knew about.)

This book drags out quite a bit, sometimes Hannah will talk about someone for a long time without mentioning a name which irritated me a little due to the amount of characters there were I was often getting people mixed up. The story is told from the point of view of Clay, Hannah’s first love and one of her 13 reasons. I found him to be an okay character, he over reacted a little bit at times to certain things I thought but it was easy to ignore.

This book is overall a good read, it drags out a bit and is a bit on the dark side but still very good.  I also really enjoyed the ending a lot. It kind of put a happy turn on such a deep depressing book.

Makeup Monday: Revolution Matte Effect Foundation

IMG_0196

Another random revolution review. I swear I’m not sponsored by a lot of their product because their cheap and I’m poor, haha. Anyway this is the Revolution Matt Effect Foundation in warm beige. I had to blindly choose this based on the colour of the sticker due to the fact their were no tester available. It does however match my skin tone quite well. It’s quite a thick liquid but does blend really well. I use this daily over primer and under powder and it a good product. My only problem is that it takes quite a well to blend it in as it’s quite a thick liquid. It was only 3 pounds I believe, to apart from that small thing this product is great!

Makeup Monday: Avon Super Drama Mascara

Ribbet collage

So my mum actually ordered this for herself and then didn’t like it so she gave it to me. It’s the Avon Super Drama Mascara which is an awesome name as it rhymes. It’s just a small dark purple tube with black writing. The wand it’s self is very weird. It’s quite rough on the eyelashes. I don’t really like this mascara all that much. It’s a really dark liquid and when I put it on it makes me eyelashes very black. It also makes them stick together a lot which I don’t like. It’s not that bad if you used it with another mascara. I’ve been using it under the Collection Longer Length Lengthening mascara, and together my eyelashes look a lot longer and darker. I would never use this product on it’s own though, as it’s really not that good.

Makeup Monday: MUA Eyeshadow

IMG_0195This going to be a very short review because It’s hard to say something about a simple yet amazing project but I’m going to try anyway. I recently purchased this Makeup Academy Single Eyeshadow in the colour Oyster for 1 pound. For a while I’ve really wanted a white eyeshadow to use as a highlighter as the ones in my palettes are already worn down or already all used. This is such a simple small product, but it was very cheap and works really well. It has a really nice shimmer to it and it works well if you’ve got really pale skin. It’s also really small so it’s easy to carry around without taking up too much room in your bag/pocket.

Makeup Monday: Revolution Ultra Bronze Bronzer

IMG_0134It’s really hard for me to find bronzers that work since I have really really pale skin so bronzers usually make my skin look really orange. I hate that and I really wish I had more tanned skin. This bronzer is one of the only ones I’ve found that actually works with my skin tone. It comes out a very rich coffee brown but once brushed over properly it blends well with your skin tone to make it look just a little darker without making it to obvious you’re wearing it. Also I should mention this is from Revoultion brand and only cost £3 pounds which is just amazing for such a good product.

Makeup Monday: Essence All About Matt Fixing Loose Powder

jThis is the first fixing powder I’ve ever actually used and I think it works really well. It’s a light white substance in a small plastic tub. I brought this last Halloween to use on top of my makeup and It worked quite well so I’ve been using it since then. I usually put this on after my foundation and then again after my bronzer/blusher/highlighter (but before I do my lips and eyes). It works well but it sometimes does mix with the foundation and make it powdery so I have to wait for my foundation to properly dry before applying the powder. Apart from that it’s a great product.

Review: Lady Gaga Black Fluid Shower Gel

Black FluidThis came in a gift set along with the Lady Gaga perfume. Now I love Lady Gaga a lot and I adore this shower gel. I was a little bit reluctant to use it at first because it’s black shower gel, which I’ve never heard of before. But as we all know Gaga loves to be different so of course it wouldn’t be a white liquid. The bottle is extremely pretty, a black square shaped bottle with a gold lid and gold writing. It smells amazing, almost exactly like the perfume and the smell lasts for ages after. The soaps bubbles that appear after washing are actually grey, which is quite cool and fun to look at. I only use this for ‘rare’ occasions, such as a party or a date (I never go on dates so it’s mostly parties) because it smells so good and if you want to impress someone I’d defiantly recommend this.
